Website Tweaking
Submitted by Hot Rod Beck on July 19, 2007 - 8:09am
Now that the website has been live for a bit, I am going to tweak it a bit for look and usability. As a reminder, there are certain things you can only see if you are logged in. Currently comments can always be seen, but I may revert to only when logged in.
So far I have added a few features:
- 1. You can now post google and youtube videos by simply putting the url address in a post. On a youtube page the URL is typically just to the right of the video, above the Embed code and below the tags.
- 2. When you now go to post you will find some instructions on how to code for style and how to post photos. I am trying to streamline this a bit.
- 3. There is now the capability to sign-up for events. The Jared Williams Foundation Tournament post has a sign-up on it currently.
- 4. There is now the option to have a profile photo for inclusion in comments on posts. The mighty Rod Beck shows up on my comments currently. To upload your own, go to "My Account" and select edit.
On the docket for changes are the following:
- Reworking the logo to say LowBall and old school wiffle. Putting an image of Mt. Abe in the background. Replace the player with one of us.
- I am going to replace the top image, it just doesn't look right.
- The fonts and colors will be changed to make it an easier read.
If you guys have any other recommendations or requests, let me know. Mind you, I really am not a web designer or code sort of person so I may not be able to help.
